Bright on Broadway (Taken with instagram)
I love it when kids add their special spin onto a mundane object. So cute.
Marketing Campaign of the Day: From noted quirk-maker Wes Anderson and stop-motion animation studio Laika (Coraline) comes the first in a series of 60-spots for Sony’s Xperia line of smartphone.
For the campaign, Sony asked kids what they thought made the Xperia phones so smart, and then animated their responses.
There is also a brief making-of video, which you can watch here.

YaBoo! Today marks the end of an era for this freeway landmark in SF. It never failed to make me feel a little warm and fuzzy for a company that generally makes me feel pretty meh.
Expect to get teary eyed. :)
PSA of the Day: In its latest public awareness campaign, Pro Infirmis, a Swiss advocacy group for individuals with disabilities, conducts an experiment aimed at showing us that we could stand to be better in our attitude toward people who are different, and then throws in a Band of Horses song as if we needed to feel worse about it.

Who wants to be friends with a brand?

HOLLA. I’m fucking sick of ads sung in the key of: “Yeah! You’re a man, remember what being a MAN is?” So laughs and cheers to writer/producer Mackenzie Fegan’s response to Dodge Charger’s Superbowl spot.

Toyota asks us, what is the plural of Prius? Check out Hunter Gatherer’s joyous stop motion short.
It’s Caturday!
Cat Diaries of the Day: Back in August, Friskies put together a feline focus group composed of 25 cats selected for personifying the Friskies brand by being playful and adventurous. These “RePURRters,” as Friskies dubbed them, were fitted with specially-designed portable video cameras to be worn around their necks.
Five days worth of footage was analyzed by Purina animal behaviorist Dr. Jill Villarreal “to draw conclusions as to the daily adventures of cats.” The footage was then edited to produce a 4-minute short film billed as the “First Ever Movie Filmed by Cats.”
You can learn more about the individual RePURRters here.

Viral Ad of the Day: Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola co-directed a commercial for Stella Artois. It is quite Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola-y.
